Membership

Membership of the MML will consist of Practices and other incorporated organisations with the primary purpose of delivering and/or supporting recognised primary health care services within the Murrumbidgee region.

  • There is no limit to the number of members;
  • There is no membership application fee;
  • However an annual membership fee of $200 is payable 1 January each year.

Members rights include:

To receive notices of, have a delegate attend, speak and vote at general meetings of the Company;

  • to participate in a call for poll;
  • to elect up to seven (7) Directors to the Board;
  • to propose amendments to the Constitution;
  • to vote on amendments to the Constitution.

Members on Nominations Committee

A Nominations Committee will be established to advise and support the Board in addressing its corporate governance responsibilities specific to the identification and selection of suitable candidates for positions on a skills based Board.

The Nominations Committee will comprise of

  • An independent
  • Three Member Delegates;
  • Two (2) Board Directors;
  • The Board Chair.

This Committee will

  • Oversee the nominations process for election and appointment of Board Directors;
  • Identify and nominate to the Board new Director candidates with the agreed skills mix for election or appointment to the Board.

Board of Directors

The Initial Board of Directors, consisting of four directors from each of the former Divisions of General Practice, will continue in office until the process of recruiting the membership, establishing the Nominations Committee and subsequently electing and appointing new Directors to the Board, are finalized.
